Facts

Check Re-presentment is the conversion of non-sufficient funds checks to an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) entry and re-presenting said entry through the Automated Clearing House (ACH) division of the Federal Reserve Bank for payment.

Our Check Services Division provides our clients a way to utilize the ACH network to electronically redeposit a check. By doing so, our clients will receive payments in a much more cost-effective, efficient and expedient manner when compared to the traditional cost of handling a paper check.

Automated Recovery Systems, Check Services Division can offer check re-presentment as a tool to process transactions for merchants currently performing in-house return check processing, creating a positive business transaction between merchants and consumers.  It is then possible to perform collections on balances of those checks not collect through EFT in a timely manner.

In order to operate in compliance with UCC Section 4A, the Federal Reserve CC, and the Automated Clearing House Association, merchants must notify the customer of their intentions to re-deposit the check electronically should it be returned. Re-presented items may only be processed for negotiable demand drafts for amounts under $2,500.00 and may be presented only up to 180 days from the date on the original check.
